Warranty Policy

This Warranty Policy is given by Case Chimp Ltd, trading as Blanc Space (company number SC496053), Main Road, Locharbriggs, Dumfries, DG1 1RY, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").

It sets out the voluntary manufacturer's guarantee we provide with our products. It is in addition to, and does not affect, your legal rights as a consumer — see Your legal rights below.

1. What the warranty covers, and for how long

Every Blanc Space product is guaranteed against manufacturing and printing faults for 12 months from the date of the order on which it was supplied.

This warranty is:

  • Separate from our 60-day returns window. The returns window is for changing your mind and is set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy. This warranty is only for faults.
  • Given to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. It applies only to products bought directly from blancspace.com, us.blancspace.com or eu.blancspace.com. Products bought from any other seller, resold, or received second-hand are not covered.
  • Conditional on proof of purchase. We need the order number or the email address the order was placed with. If we cannot match the product to an order on our system, we cannot assess a claim under it.

2. What is covered

Phone cases

  • Print faults: misprints, misalignment, white ink visible on the edges, patchy or missing print, and print that peels, chips or flakes.
  • Manufacturing faults: cracking without impact, warping, a fit that is loose or tight, rough or sharp edges.
  • Hardware faults: a camera ring that is cracked or will not click back into place, MagSafe magnets coming loose, buttons that stop working.
  • Clear TPU that has yellowed noticeably within 60 days of the order date — see section 4.

Screen and lens protectors

  • Cracked, chipped or shattered glass, on arrival or in normal use; adhesive that does not stick; incorrect cut-outs; lens caps that will not sit once the applicator frame is removed.

Grips, rings and MagSafe accessories

  • Adhesive failure, magnets detaching, misprints, cracking without impact.

Straps, lanyards, charms and other accessories

  • Broken or faulty clasps, stitching faults, fraying or breaking under normal use, peeling print.

3. What is not covered

This warranty covers faults in how a product was made. It does not cover anything that happens to a product afterwards. In particular it does not cover:

  • Accidental damage — drops, impacts, crushing, bending, pressure, liquid or water ingress, heat, or damage caused by anything else the product was carried with.
  • Normal wear and tear — scratches, scuffs, marks, surface shine, softening or loosening of TPU with use, and print that fades gradually through handling, friction or sunlight over time.
  • Gradual discolouration of clear or transparent materials — see section 4, which sets out the position in full.
  • Fitting and installation — bubbles, dust or misalignment under a screen or lens protector, and damage caused while fitting or removing any product.
  • Misuse or use outside the product's purpose — including excess weight on a lanyard or strap, a grip or adhesive accessory fitted to a surface it is not intended for, use with third-party attachments, or use in an industrial, commercial or rental setting.
  • Anything altered, repaired, painted, cut, drilled, engraved, cleaned with solvents or otherwise modified after delivery, whether by you or anyone else.
  • Cosmetic variation — minor differences in colour, tone, brightness, print position or finish between the on-screen preview and the delivered product, between production batches, or between two of the same design. Screens vary and print is made to order; a variation of this kind is not a fault.
  • Damage to your phone or any other device or property. Our cases are drop-tested and reduce the risk of damage, but no case prevents all damage in all circumstances, and we do not guarantee that a device in one of our cases will survive any particular impact.
  • Errors in a personalised order that came from what was submitted — typographical errors, the wrong image, or an image supplied at too low a resolution to print well. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for what we can do in that situation.
  • Loss or theft of the product, and products no longer in your possession.
  • Products supplied free of charge as part of a promotion, goodwill gesture or gift, beyond the warranty already running on the original order they relate to (see section 5).

4. Clear and transparent materials: discolouration and yellowing

Please read this section before buying a clear or transparent product.

The flexible parts of our cases are made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). TPU is the material the phone case industry uses for clear and transparent parts because of how it absorbs shock. It has one well-known characteristic: on exposure to ultraviolet light, heat and the natural oils from skin, clear TPU gradually takes on a yellow or amber tint.

It is characteristic of clear TPU as a material, whatever the brand and whatever the price. It is an inherent property of the material and an expected characteristic of the product, not a defect in how it was made. How quickly it appears depends entirely on how the case is used — sunlight exposure, climate, how warm the phone runs, how often it is handled and how often it is cleaned — and is outside our control.

How this warranty treats it:

  • Within 60 days of the order date: noticeable yellowing this early is not the normal behaviour of the material, so we treat it as a fault. Send us a photo and we will replace the product under section 6.
  • After 60 days from the order date: yellowing and any other gradual discolouration of clear or transparent materials is not covered by this warranty, at any point in the 12-month period. It is an expected characteristic of the material and falls under normal wear and tear.

If you would rather not have this happen at all, choose a product with black or coloured edges rather than clear ones. They give identical protection and do not show discolouration. We will always tell you this when you contact us about yellowing, and we would rather you bought the right product than replaced the same one repeatedly.

To slow it down: keep the phone out of prolonged direct sunlight (car dashboards and windowsills are the common ones), wipe the case regularly with a soft damp cloth to lift skin oils, and keep it away from solvents and harsh cleaning chemicals.

5. Replacements and the warranty period

Where we supply a replacement product under this warranty, or as a goodwill gesture:

  • The 12-month period continues to run from the date of the original order. It does not restart. A replacement carries the unexpired balance of the original warranty and nothing more.
  • The same applies to any further replacement. A chain of replacements does not extend the guarantee beyond 12 months from the original order date.
  • A replacement supplied at no charge does not create a new contract of sale, a new warranty period, or a right to a refund of a price that was not paid.

6. Repeat claims and fair use

This warranty exists to put right products that were made wrong. It is not a subscription for a product that does not suit how it is being used.

Where the same characteristic or issue recurs on successive replacements of the same product, that tells us the product type is not suited to the conditions it is being used in, rather than that each item was faulty. In that situation we may, acting reasonably and instead of supplying a further replacement:

  • offer an alternative product type that will not show the same issue (for example a coloured-edge case in place of a clear one), on the terms we set out at the time; or
  • decline further claims in respect of that issue and that order.

We may also decline a claim where the number, pattern or value of claims on an account is inconsistent with normal consumer use, or where we reasonably believe a claim is not genuine. We will always tell you why.

7. How to make a claim

  1. Contact us at help@blancspace.com, or through live chat on the site, within a reasonable time of noticing the issue and in any event before the 12-month period ends.
  2. Give us your order number or the email address you ordered with.
  3. Send clear, well-lit photographs of the issue, showing the whole product and a close-up of the area concerned. For a fit or hardware issue, a short video helps.

You do not need to send the product back. Photographs are the evidence we work from. Keep the product or recycle it.

We assess claims on the photographs, the order record and this policy. If we cannot tell from the photographs whether an issue is covered, we may ask for more images before deciding. Assessment is ours, acting reasonably.

8. What you get if a claim is accepted

  • Within 60 days of the order date: a free replacement with free postage. If you would rather have your money back, we will refund what you paid for the faulty item instead.
  • After 60 days and within 12 months: the replacement product is free and you pay the postage. We email an invoice for the postage only, and the replacement is made as soon as it is paid. After 60 days the remedy under this warranty is a replacement rather than a refund.
  • If the product is no longer sold, we add store credit to your account worth what you paid for it.
  • Items under £10 on an order outside the UK are refunded at what you paid rather than posted individually.
  • Replacements are made to order and dispatched within 1–2 working days of being arranged. Delivery then follows our Shipping Policy.
  • Replacements go to the delivery address on the original order unless you give us a new one. We will confirm the address with you before making a replacement.

9. Limits on what we are responsible for

Our responsibility under this warranty is limited to replacing the product, or where this policy provides for it, refunding what you paid for it. We are not liable under this warranty for any other loss, including damage to a phone or other device, loss of data, loss of use, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in it excludes or limits your legal rights as a consumer.

This warranty is given in addition to your legal rights and does not replace them.

United Kingdom. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Satisfactory quality is judged by what a reasonable person would consider satisfactory, taking account of the price paid, the description of the goods, and the nature of the materials they are made from — including characteristics that are inherent to those materials and disclosed to you. You have a short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days of delivery, and rights to repair or replacement after that. Where a fault appears more than six months after delivery, it is for you to show that the goods did not conform to the contract at the time they were supplied. For free advice on your rights, contact Citizens Advice at citizensadvice.org.uk.

European Union. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you have a legal guarantee of conformity of at least two years from delivery under Directive (EU) 2019/771, as implemented in your country. That legal guarantee applies alongside this warranty and is not affected by it. Where this warranty gives you more than the legal guarantee, you may rely on this warranty; where the legal guarantee gives you more, you may rely on that.

United States and elsewhere. You may have additional rights under the law of your state or country, and this warranty does not affect them.

11. Goodwill

We sometimes do more than this policy requires — a replacement outside the period, a discount, a credit, or a product swap — because we would rather sort something out than argue about it.

Anything we do that goes beyond this policy is offered as goodwill. It is made without any admission of liability, it does not vary this policy, it does not create a course of dealing, and it does not entitle anyone (including the person who received it) to the same outcome again. We may withdraw goodwill offers at any time before they are accepted.

12. Complaints and disputes

If you are unhappy with a decision we have made, reply to us and ask for it to be reviewed. A different member of the team will look at it and respond, normally within five working days.

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of Scotland, and the courts of Scotland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
